What do Bangladesh, Diana Ross and Paolo Di Canio all have in common? Well, they each, of course, hold the day March 26 in greater esteem than any other in their respective calendars.
The 26th day of the third month of every year is the day on which Bangladesh celebrates its independence, having confirmed its withdrawal from Pakistan in March of 1971, while Motown legend Diana Ross was born on this day in 1944.
But what about Paolo Di Canio? Well it is 13 years to the day on which the beloved Italian leapt so gracefully into the air at Upton Park to caress one of the finest volleys ever witnessed past outstretched left hand of Neil Sullivan.
It was a goal of breathtaking quality, and one that will be remembered more fondly than any other when West Ham make the move from their current home to a renovated Olympic Stadium in Startford.
Di Canio's wonderful strike was rightly named the Premier League's Goal of the Season for 1999-00, and is regarded by some as the finest strike in the 20 year history of the competition.
The anniversary of the goal offers GMF the chance to trawl the archives of the Premier League's Goal of the Season, and offer up some suggestions that could rival Di Canio for the best ever.
