Carl Jenkinson | Arsenal

He's come a long way since Theo Walcott was seen passive-aggressively screaming into his face in a style that only Walcott could during Arsenal's 8-2 mauling at the hands of Manchester United back in 2011.

Against Bayern Munich in the second-leg he was excellent, similarly against Swansea. With Bacary Sagna struggling for fitness, and potentially set to leave at the end of the season, Arsenal fans shouldn't be too concerned.

But his name still often conjures up funny images of hapless defending in the minds of many Premier League fans. Some see him as out-of-his-depth, a Championship player masquerading as an Arsenal defender.

He's still struggling to shrug off that initial impression, but a 21-year-old Jenkinson has improved remarkably since his first, admittedly shaky, performances in a Gunners shirt. If he continues to improve on this trajectory, he'll be an excellent full-back. Not getting the praise just yet, but there's plenty of time.
