Manchester United transfer target Eliaquim Mangala has said he is flattered by the speculation linking him with a move to the Barclays Premier League leaders.

The Porto defender has recently been linked with a move to the Red Devils in the summer with the club looking to bolster their defensive options for next season.

The 22-year-old arrived at the Dragao Stadium from Belgian outfit Standard Liege in 2011 and helped the Portguese giants to retain their title last term.

Mangala is yet to represent France as a full international but has featured for the French under-21s on 23 occasions.

United will try and strengthen their defence in the summer with reports linking club captain Nemanja Vidic with move to AC Milan and Rio Ferdinand turning 35 later this year.

However, the defender has acknowledged that Porto would have say in the possibility of any transfer happening.

"I am definitely flattered by the interest of such a big club like MAnchester United, any player would be," he told Sky Sports.

"I have a contract here until 2016 so even if I want to go, Porto will have their say in the transfer."
