Liverpool are eyeing up a summer transfer swoop for Barcelona youngster Sergi Canos, according the Daily Mirror.
At just 16-years-old, the Spanish starlet is attracting attention for his performances in the Catalan's youth team. Canos is predominantly a winger and Brendan Rodgers sees him as another piece to his Anfield revolution.
There has been a stand-off in contract negotiations as Barca are trying to sign Canos on a long-term deal to fend of interest from the Merseyside outfit. The Reds are, however, prepared to offer Canos a bigger deal which could see him make the switch to England.
He has excellent ball control, good pace and a keen eye for goal. His confident style of play shows he could be set for big things in the future if he stays grounded and develops as expected.
Players such as Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi have already progressed through the Barcelona academy, so can Canos make the step up and become a world class talent? Is Anfield the right destination for a player so young?
Early signs suggest the future looks promising for the youngster, and if he continues his impressive displays, it won't be long before Sergi Canos is a household name.
