Liverpool have been joined by Everton and Tottenham in a race to sign Aly Cissokho from Valencia.

Spurs and Everton are 'at the forefront' of clubs looking to take the French international away from the Mestalla, according to Portuguese sports paper A Bola.

The 25-year-old joined Valencia last summer from Lyon to fill the void left by Spanish international Jordi Alba.

However, the left-back has started just 14 games in the Spanish league this year and could be looking to move away from the Spanish side.

With Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool all looking to strengthen their back-lines at the end of the season, all three are believed to be monitoring the Frenchman.

And Cissokho has not denied the fact he could make a move to England during the close season and admits he has been disenchanted with the lack of first-team football for Valencia.

He said: "In the second part of the season I don't have as much playing time, unlike the first.

"Are English clubs my future? I am proud that my name is matched with these clubs but I'm fine here. I just hope to play more."
