Top five: Next international record breakers (2)

Robin van Persie - international goals: 34

Robin van Persie needs seven more goals to move past Patrick Kluivert and become the Netherlands' record goalscorer and, given his form over the past two years, this is surely an inevitability.

Van Persie has scored nine times in his last 13 outings for his country, including three goals in his last two appearances, and the striker will have six fixtures before the end of the year to further increase his tally.

Ahead of Van Persie in the scoring charts are Ruud van Nistelrooy and Faas Wilkes, both of whom managed to score 35 times for Oranje, while the latter has the best goals-per-game ratio of any of the top five (0.92).

Former Arsenal teammate of Van Persie, Dennis Bergkamp, is placed second with a total of 37 goals from 79 appearances, with Kluivert ranked top with 40 strikes, also scored in 79 games.
