Liverpool pair fit to return for Villa clash
Liverpool news: Jamie Carragher and Pepe Reina available to face Aston Villa
Liverpool duo Jamie Carragher and Pepe Reina should be fit to start against Aston Villa this weekend according to first-team coach Mike Marsh.
The pair missed Liverpool's last Premier League outing, a 3-1 defeat Southampton, while Reina also missed the win over Tottenham earlier this month.
Marsh confirmed the pair should be available for selection for Liverpool's first game after the international break.
"They're both available for selection, so it's a possibility," he told the club's official website.
Liverpool had a host of players away on international duty during the break, including leading striker Luis Suarez and captain Steven Gerrard.
Marsh admitted he wasn't too concerned with the performance of Liverpool's players while they were away with their countries, and simply wanted them to return home unscathed.
He said: "I've got be honest, I'm watching the games and hoping that the players come back fit and well.
"Although you do want the players that are representing their country to get a positive result, I'm more concerned that when they come back to Melwood [Liverpool's training complex] that they're fit and ready to play at the weekend.
"We seem to have come through unscathed."
Liverpool take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
