Mario Balotelli left Manchester City in January - and left the Premier League champions a man short upfront.

With no replacement having been brought in, City struggling to score goals to the extent of the previous season and with speculation surrounding the futures of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko, who will City bring in to fire themselves to glory next season?

Radamel Falcao | Atletico Madrid

Radamel Falcao has been on fire since joining Atletico Madrid from Porto in August 2011. Since his reported £34.7m move, Falcao has managed 45 goals, in 59 La Liga games. However, City would face a battle for his signature, with Chelsea and Real Madrid having also reportedly interested.

Edinson Cavani | Napoli

Edinson Cavani is into his third season at Napoli and has been in lethal form ever since joining from Palermo in July 2010, scoring 69 goals in 96 Serie A appearances. Roberto Mancini has been interested in signing the Uruguay international since witnessing him taunt his Manchester City defence over two group games in the Champions League.

Gonzalo Higuain | Real Madrid

Gonzalo Higuain is regarded as one of the deadliest finishers in Europe. With Real Madrid reportedly interested in acquiring the talents of the aforementioned Falcao, Higuain's place could come under threat. If City miss out on Falcao, then a striker who has scored 102 goals in 181 La Liga games for Spanish giants Real Madrid wouldn't be such a bad second option.

John Guidetti | Manchester City

With plenty of talented yet expensive names being floated around, many forget that Manchester City still have this talented young Swedish striker on their payroll. Close to recovering from a lengthy injury lay-off, and having scored 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie games for Feyenoord on loan last season, it could now be time to give the undoubtedly talented Swede a chance in the first-team.
