Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray has ended any transfer speculation by signing a new three-year deal at Selhurst Park.

Rumours had suggested that Murray had become a target for Premier League clubs Fulham and Aston Villa over a summer move, but Murray has signed a new deal in the hope that Palace can finish their season strongly and mount a final push for automatic promotion.

This season Murray has excelled, and has scored 29 league goals this season meaning he is currently at the forefront to win the top goal scorer award in the Championship for the 2012-2013 season.

In the summer of 2011, Murray announced his move from Brighton to Crystal Palace. Since his arrival in South London, Murray has grown to be a fan-favourite because of his excellent goal-scoring abilities. Following his prolific form this season.

In response to his terrific goal scoring record this season, reports suggested that during Palace's game against Bristol City on February 19th, England manager Roy Hodgson was in attendance to watch Wilfried Zaha play and Murray must have caught the eye of the England boss. Murray managed to bag a goal during the game that lead to a 2-1 Palace victory, only increasing Murray's stock in the thoughts of the England set-up.

Unfortunately for Murray, he missed out on the Championship Player of the Season award for the 2012-2013 season, losing only marginally to Watford's Matej Vydra.

Murray is already 37th in Palace's top-goal scoring records, and with his rich vain of form showing no signs of slowing down, Murray's reputation can only continue to grow.
