Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hailed Wojciech Szczesny's attitude after being dropped for the last two games.
The Polish keeper was dropped for the Champions League tie against Bayern Munich in Germany and also the Premier League game against Swansea City, which the side won 2-0 on both occasions.
Szczesny was replaced by Lukasz Fabianski and the stand-in goalkeeper has been impressive in the two games keeping clean-sheets in both of the games.
Arsene Wenger confirmed that he dropped his number-one goalkeeper because he wasn't mentally fit after what has been a tough season for the Gunners.
After dropping the Polish goalkeeper, his father then came out and made some very harsh comments about Wenger saying that he is using Szczesny as a scape-goat.
Whilst being on international duty, Szczesny then responded to his dad's comments and apologised to the club and the manager, an action that Wenger appreciated.
Although he has been dropped for the last two games, the manager is adamant that the young goalkeeper has a great future at the club.
Wenger told Arsenal's official site: “I haven’t spoken to him [about his father’s comments] and I believe he responded very well.
“There is a not a lot more to say. We are in a competitive world, he has nearly played 100 games for this club and at his age that is absolutely fantastic.
“The rest, we have ups and downs in our form and we have to fight against that. That’s what he said, basically.
“He has a great future. He is a very young goalkeeper. You do not find very many goalkeepers at his age who have the experience he has already.
"That’s why I believe he has a great future. But he lives in a world where competition exists.”
