Marquinhos | Roma

The 18-year-old Roma centre-back has been a revelation in Serie 'A' this season. Spotted at an early age playing for Corinthians, Marquinhos made the move to Europe last summer.

The Brazilian is comfortable on the ball, and ranks in the top 15 for interceptions per game, offsides won and blocked shots.

The teenage defender quickly established himself as a first-team Roma player - he's made 21 appearances so far this term. And, most impressively of all, he's received no yellow cards this season. Not one.

Manchester United have been linked, possibly as a long-term successor to Rio Ferdinand, while Manchester City were also thought to be interested in the January transfer window.

And he's another on Barcelona's radar.
