Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez is happy with John Terry’s fitness, and has hinted that he will be involved throughout the Easter period.
Terry has been troubled by injury this season due to a knee problem he sustained during a league match against Liverpool back in November.
Since Benitez arrived at the club, Terry has rarely featured and will be hoping for a run in the side before the end of the season.
However, Benitez has revealed that the skipper has been attending training sessions regularly and is hopeful that he will play an effective role in the Blues' upcoming games.
Benitez told reporters: "He was training with us this week and he was doing well. He is training every day and improving his fitness.
"It is just a question of how many games can you play? We will have four games in nine days. It is the same for everyone.
"You can't play all these games and be 100 per cent - not just him, everyone."
Chelsea are set to take on Southampton this Saturday and will then lock horns with Manchester United in quarter-final of the FA Cup on Monday. Three days later, they are also scheduled to take on Rubin Kazan in the Europa League.
Benitez finished by saying: "We have to ensure we have a competitive team against Southampton and a competitive team against United (on Easter Monday). We have to manage the squad carefully.
"The most difficult one will be these two games (coming up) because they are so close."
Chelsea will be hoping for a successful end to the season, as they go in search for a Europa League and FA Cup double. Benitez will also be hoping to secure Champions League football for the Blues before he departs the club this summer.
