Napoli forward Edinson Cavani is 50 per cent likely to join Real Madrid in the summer, according to his father.
Cavani has established himself as one of the deadliest strikers in Europe in recent seasons, and the Uruguayan is currently Serie A’s top scorer this season.
Chelsea and Manchester City have both been heavily linked with a move for the forward, with both teams getting a closer look at his ability in recent seasons in the Champions League.
Recently Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis said the only way Cavani would be allowed to leave the Naples-based club would be if somebody activated his €70 million release clause or offered “crazy money”.
While both Manchester City and Chelsea are capable of doing just that, Real Madrid are believed to be interested in securing Cavani’s services this summer, and the player’s father revealed they could well get their man.
“At the moment Edinson has a 50 per cent chance of signing for Real Madrid. Napoli turned down offers from many clubs, but I think that if a proposal for €60m arrived then Edinson would be sold," he said.
“It’s not easy to negotiate with Napoli.”
Along with Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid, Juventus, Anzhi Makhachkala and Paris-Saint Germain are reportedly interested in landing Cavani this summer.
