The FIFPro XI was introduced in 2005 to identify the best team of players from Europe over the course of the season.
Those players who have appeared most times in the FIFPro Team of the Year make it to my side.
Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas
The Spaniard is an automatic choice despite strong competition from Gianluigi Buffon. He has been the best stopper for the last five years and has appeared in every FIFPro Team of the Year since 2008.
Left-back: Carles Puyol
Although he is not a conventional left-back, Puyol has shown in the past that he can perform well in this position. With three appearances in the list since 2005, Puyol is my left-back.
Centre-back: John Terry
With five appearances in the FIFPro XI, the Chelsea captain stands unchallenged in the centre-back position. With his sublime defensive capabilities and leadership skills he is also the captain of my side.
Centre-back: Gerard Pique
With three appearances in the list, Gerard Pique is the second centre-back. He has proven himself to be one of the best defenders in world football and is a boost to any line-up.
Right-back: Sergio Ramos
Although he has recently switched to centre-back, I have chosen him as my right-back. His ability to score goals is also a boost to the team. Both Sergio Ramos and Dani Alves have three appearances in the FIFPro XI, but I personally prefer Ramos.
Xavi makes it to my side with five appearances in the FIFPro XI. For the past few years he has graced football with his amazing ability to keep possession and make crucial passes.
Centre-midfield: Andres Iniesta
When making an all-star team it is impossible to leave this man out. With four appearances in the FIFPro XI, he fills the second spot in central midfield.
Perhaps this is not the Brazilian's ideal position but we all know that great players can play at whatever role you give them. With three appearances in the list, the Barcelona legend makes it to my team.
Although his preferred position would be as an attacking midfielder, when he was playing in top form he could have done the job in any role. Kaka and Steven Gerrard were competing for this place with three appearances each, but I chose Kaka over Gerrard because of his Ballon d'Or.
Forward: Cristiano Ronaldo
One of the best footballers of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo makes it to my side with a staggering six appearances in the list since 2005. For the past few years the Portuguese superstar has amazed one and all with his sublime skills and prolific goal scoring abilities.
Forward: Lionel Messi
Perhaps this is the only team where Ronaldo and Messi will be on the same side. The Argentine magician has appeared six times in the list and won the Ballon d'Or for the past four years, so making a team without him is impossible. Partnering him with Ronaldo makes my side invincible.
