Manchester United are on course to win a record-breaking 20th league title, but a few players who earn winners' medals in May might not be at Old Trafford next season.
Here are several players who could move on this summer:
The Brazilian had been an instant hit with the Manchester United fans, but the 24-year-old has seen a recent decline of form coupled with injuries ruling him out for major portions of the past two seasons.
The Brazilian managed only 16 appearances last season and 17 this term. The Red Devils' number 8 has so far scored nine goals in his United career. Arriving as one of the most promising midfielders from FC Porto in 2007, Anderson has been impressive but unable to stay fit. The story this season has been the new found partnership of Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley, which has put Anderson’s position in doubt for the coming seasons.
The Big Dane has certainly lost his position to David De Gea this season. Making only 11 appearances this season, Lindegaard's last league game was against Reading in United’s 4-3 win where inability was exposed from corners. With United scouting Stoke City's Asmir Begovic, Lindegaard could be on United’s departure list.
Nani / Antonio Valencia
Either Nani or Antonio Valencia will be leaving United, certainly. Wilfried Zaha has arrived and is expected to feature in United’s top ranks next season, while it's believed the club are also looking to sign another winger this summer, which means Valencia or Nani would be surplus to requirements. The big decision for Sir Alex Ferguson would be who he keeps and who leaves Old Trafford in June.
The 21-year-old Italian started his United career with a bang by scoring the memorable 93rd-minute winner against Aston Villa and scoring with his first touch in the game against Sunderland. But he has now become more of a squad player and has been loaned out to several clubs. He has publicly stated his desire to stay at his current club, VFB Stuttgart, which would bring an end to his adventurous ride at United.
Coming to the end of his contract and with no new terms agreed as yet, United could say goodbye to Ferdinand if they win a 20th league title. United have four other first-team central defenders and the reported interest in Benfica's Ezequiel Garay might spell the end for Ferdinand’s glorious career at Old Trafford.
Nick Powell (Loan)
The talented midfielder is expected to skip out a season at United by switching to another Premier League club, leaving out on loan in search of more first-team action which he really deserves considering the talent he possesses.
