Lionel Messi has added another record to a career already beyond comprehension after the Barcelona superstar completed the feat of scoring against every La Liga team in a single season, and in consecutive games at that.
Last season, Cristiano Ronaldo become the first player in La Liga history to score against all other 19 opponents in a single campaign, but the record of the Real Madrid forward has now been spectacularly surpassed by his greatest rival.
Messi's goal against Celta Vigo on Saturday was the 19th successive La Liga match in which he has found the net for Barcelona, having plundered 29 goals in his previous 18 outings against the rest of the Spanish league.
The last time Messi failed to score in a league match for Barcelona was November 3, less than 24 hours after the birth of his son Thiago, but since then he has defied the already unreasonable expectation on his shoulders.
Messi's most recent achievement comes following the 73 goals he scored last season, the best ever haul in a European campaign, and his record-breaking 2012 during which time he scored 91 times.
The 25-year-old Argentina international has scored 56 times in all competitions for Barcelona this term, and is just six short of his 50 successes in La Liga last season.
