Less than 48 hours after their respective Premier League fixtures, Chelsea and Manchester United will be forced to compete in what could be a gruelling FA Cup quarter-final replay.

It was three weeks ago at Old Trafford when Manchester United had Chelsea with their backs against the wall just 11 minutes in as Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney helped to record an early 2-0 lead

But it was after that lead was diminished following Eden Hazard and Ramires' goals which saw the two English giants constraint to play a replay at Stamford Bridge on an uncertain date at the time.

Due to Chelsea's successful Europa League run, the FA was forced to set the date of this tie on a redundant date causing uncertainty for both managers.

Sir Alex Ferguson headed into United's encounter with Sunderland at the Stadium of light with an interesting selection. Wayne Rooney, for one, wasn't to be found on the substitutions let alone in the starting 11.

However, despite having the option of resting strike partner Robin van Persie and replacing him with either Chicharito or Danny Welbeck, the Dutchman was furthermore chosen to start in a lone striker's role.

Therefore, with names like Chicharito, Nani, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs all rested completely; and Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley only having a spell of the bench. There is a possibility that each of these names will feature for the Red Devils. Perhaps along with the returning-from-injury Paul Scholes and young Phil Jones

There were a few injury concerns also taken away from the trip to Sunderland. As Rafael was subbed off in the first half and his replacement Jonny Evans received a knock.

Also, goalkeeper David de Gea had some concerns following a nasty collision in the second half which forced to be grounded for a while. Despite enduring the match, out of favour Anders Lindegaard could make his first appearance since January.

This may cause some concern at the back as both Nemanja Vidic and Chris Smalling started in their 1-0 victory. Rio Ferdinand, along with Patrice Evra could be the only certainties to start against the Blues. With Phil Jones a chance after returning from the sidelines.

Predicted Manchester United line-up against Chelsea:

Lindergaard, Jones, Smalling, Ferdinand, Evra, Nani, Cleverley, Giggs, Welbeck, Rooney, Chicharito.
