Fly me to the Toon - Hahnemann pilots Wolves aeroplane
Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann is one of football's more interesting characters, so it wasn't much of a surprise when a video emerged to suggest that the former Reading and Wolves goalkeeper would be piloting a flight to the north east as Mick McCarthy's Midlands side prepared to take on Newcastle United in the Premier League.
A convincing interview from former team-mate Kevin Doyle laid further claim to the April fools' day stunt, before damning evidence of the fictitious story broke, when Hahnemann was captured crashing a toy plane into a field.
Less than a year later in February 2012, fans of the Molineux club thought they were on the receiving end of a similar trick when it was announced McCarthy had been controversially sacked, only for Wolves to announce his old assistant Terry Connor as the new permanent manager.
