Who is statistically the best team in Europe? (2)

7. Ajax - Overall points: 19

Under former player Frank de Boer, Ajax have emerged as one of the most stylised teams in Europe, reverting back to their roots and playing the type of passing and possession game Barcelona picked up from one of their most famous sons, Johan Cruyff, in the first place.

The Amsterdam club have always been excellent at developing youngsters and their current crop are particularly outstanding; the likes of Christian Eriksen, Siem de Jong and Viktor Fischer have all been attracting interest from some big-name European clubs.

Unfortunately for Ajax they ranked as the lowest team when it comes to defending amongst our seven teams, while in attack they came 6th and for overall points/form they came 6th. It seems there is still room to grow under De Boer, but given their Champions League performances this season don't rule them out developing as a unit next term - if they can keep hold of their best players.
