Demba Ba was rightly heralded for his spectacular winner in Chelsea's defeat of Manchester United on Sunday, but Petr Cech is perhaps more deserving of the plaudits after the Blues progressed to Wembley once again.
While Ba's finish was exquisite, Cech's save from Javier Hernandez's goal-bound header was simply breathtaking, as the Chelsea goalkeeper appeared to defy logic and divert the ball over the crossbar with seemingly bionic fingertips.
It was a glorious passage of play with Danny Welbeck's sumptuous cross finding the head of Hernandez, who had done admirably to push the ball towards goal, but Cech upstaged them both with a stop worthy of the highest of praise.
Cech revealed after the game that he received texts from fellow 'keepers hailing his block from Hernandez, but it does not require someone used to making saves to appreciate just how good it was from the Chelsea No.1.
Should Chelsea defend their FA Cup with victory at Wembley in May, they could look back to the moment that Cech defied Hernandez as the most pivotal moment of their campaign.
Cech's heroics have inspired GMF to take a look back at some of the finest saves ever witnessed in football, and we have complied a list of five mind-boggling stops from an array of goalies.
This is, of course, not a definitive list of the greatest saves in the history of the sport, but a collection of our favourites. We'd love to know yours, so comment below the the saves that have impressed you the most down the years.
