Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is on a collision course with Roberto Mancini over international duty and blames the Italian for his injury woes, all of which could lead to him leaving.
The Citizens manager was critical of the Belgium national team for playing the centre-back against Macedonia but also told the 26-year-old that he must put the Etihad Stadium club first.
The report claims Kompany fell out with the Bundesliga side when they tried to stop him playing for more than the one game he appeared in at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Hamburg eventually got their way but Kompany joined Manchester City little over a month later.
It also says Kompany takes representing his country very seriously and may even see political significance in turning out for the Red Devils.
It also says that this falling out could see a repeat of the situation that saw him eventually leave Hanburg.
International duty is not his only gripe: the Sport Wereld report also claims Kompany doesn’t feel the Manchester City medical team have treated his recent calf injury correctly and blames Mancini for his choice of physio.
