Chelsea 'crisis' could end in silverware

Chelsea's Premier League form may be inconsistent, but are the London side really in crisis?

Towards the start of the campaign Chelsea certainly had cause for concern when Roberto Di Matteo was sacked following a run of unsatisfactory results.

The Champions League winning manager was replaced by Rafael Benitez - much to the disapproval of the Chelsea fans - and the Spaniard was not able to get the London team through the group stages of the Champions League.

Since then, they have struggled to solidify their spot in the top-four and their position in Europe still isn't guaranteed as we approach the end of the season.

Their lack of consistency could be blamed on the fact that they have played more games than any other team in Europe this season, but despite a congested fixture list, they have still managed to remain in the FA cup, the Europa League and currently rest fourth in the Premier League, with a game in hand on the team above.

So how can this be considered a crisis? Considering Chelsea have bought a wealth of young talent and are currently in a transition period, have they not had a promising season?

The Blues could still finish second in the league, win the FA Cup and the Europa League. If this is a team in crisis, then it's no wonder why so many previous managers have lost their jobs.

Chelsea still have it all to play for as we enter the final stages of the season.
