AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani believes Mario Balotelli can win the FIFA Ballon d’Or.
Galliani has tipped the 22-year-old to have a very bright future and feels that he could well become the ninth Milan player to win the prestigious trophy.
Balotelli returned to Italy and signed a long-term deal with AC Milan after making the £19million move from Manchester City in January, and his start to life at the Rossoneri could not have gone much better.
Balotelli has notched up an impressive seven goals in just seven Serie 'A' appearances and this has made people take notice of him once again, with Galliani stating that he feels there are only four players in the world ahead of the young Italian.
"I think that up front there are four players in the world who are a cut above: Messi, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic and Falcao but Balotelli is right behind them," he told Milan Channel.
"He's young and has all the right ingredients. Milan have had eight Ballon d'Or winners, let's hope he'll be the ninth. I always thought Balotelli was a great player since he was at Inter, and we've managed to bring him back to Italy, usually it's the other way round.
"I speak to him every day and I tell him that he has to continue doing well as this is the first season that he's playing with continuity. He has that star quality."
It’s no doubt that Balotelli has all the attributes required to become one of the world's best, and if he continues to produce his current form for the foreseeable future then he could one-day be crowned as the greatest on the planet.
However, his time with Manchester City was constantly interupted by misdemeanours on-and-off the pitch, and Balotelli will need to focus on his game if he's to reach the pinnacle.
