Frank Lampard recently scored his 200th goal for Chelsea. Aged 34 he has finally completed that milestone and looks to break the all - time Chelsea record of 202, which is in touching distance. However, there are many of these "Old but Gold" players and we have compiled a Premier League XI of them. Here it is:

Goalkeeper | Brad Friedel | Tottenham

The 41-year-old veteran has played for numerous clubs and provides competition for the starting contention even at this age, which is outstanding. The shot stopper has not won much during his career but is widely respected throughout the game. He has even scored a goal in his 287 games for Blackburn. What's more is that he signed yet another contract, to play until he is 42, one of the best old ‘keepers in the English Premier League.

Right back | Maicon | Manchester City

Forget about that night against Gareth Bale and some of his other dismal performances and you'll find a right back who has enough fuel in his tank to last a few more years despite being 31. In a position where speed is required he has put in many good performances and won trophies too. He is a key player and will prove to be a good mentor for the young Micah Richards as well as competition for the youngster.

Centre back | John Terry | Chelsea

This list would be incomplete without the natural leader. He scares attackers encourages his teammates and has loyalty, determination and pride for his country and club. Being a one-club man he will probably stay with the London club for a few more years before retiring. Without the "Captain, Leader, Legend" Chelsea wouldn't be that great.

Centre back | Rio Ferdinand | Manchester United

This towering defender faces stiff competition for this place with Vidic but I decided to give it to Rio. He has been an important part of Manchester United's defence and they would be nowhere without him.

Left back | Ashley Cole | Chelsea

The left back was (and is) invaluable at Chelsea. Making countless one - the line saves and preventing losses he is the key to Chelsea's defence. Despite being 31, he still has the speed to outrun many other defenders in his position.

Right midfield | Steven Piennar | Everton

A surprise inclusion this list, the Everton man has been quite good this season. With random bursts of speed and even more random shots which end up in the back of the net. Being 31, he is eligible for this list and quite deservedly so. Steven Piennar is still brilliant.

Centre midfield | Frank Lampard | Chelsea

Yet another Chelsea man who features on this list, Lampard has netted 200 goals for Chelsea. He is quite vital to the squad and his free kicks, penalties, and long shots have been invaluable for the West London side. He is 34 but has the stamina for more should Chelsea offer him a contract.

Centre midfield | Steven Gerrard | Liverpool

Gerrard has been brilliant this season with spectacular goals and the assisting of them. Without Gerrard, Liverpool would be nowhere and walking alone. Gerrard was going to be replaced by Scholes but with Gerrard's vision, shots and more starts he made it in to this team.

Left midfield | Ryan Giggs | Manchester United

Who else but Giggs? The 39-year-old veteran is definitely, without question, a legend. Playing in a role where you have to sprint, he does exactly that. For him age is no obstacle, and what's more, is that he's going to play for one more year!

Forward | Dimitar Berbatov | Fulham

The Bulgarian international has been superb this season. With his technical ability, vision, shooting skills and headers he will go on for a long time. He was criminally unused by Manchester United despite his hefty price tag and is showing the Red Devils just what he can do.

Forward | Rickie Lambert | Southampton

The Southampton man is already considered a Saint's legend. With a perfect penalty record (32 out of 32) and impeccable free kicks, he is the reason for Southampton's back-to-back promotions. He is 31-years-old and is eligible for this team. Any doubts on how he could cope with the Premier League have been put to bed after a fantastic season. If Southampton stay up, it will be thanks to the goals Lambert has provided.
