Joey Barton

The Marseille loanee's career has been marked by numerous controversial incidents and disciplinary problems.

In May 2008 Barton was sentenced to six months in prison for common assault and affray during an incident in Liverpool City Centre. He was released after 77 days.

The same year, the former Manchester City midfielder was given a four-month suspended sentence and 200 hours community service after admitting assault and causing actual bodily harm on then team-mate Ousmane Dabo during a training ground dispute in 2007.
