Five of the best: Premier League bad boys (6)

Duncan 'disorderly' Ferguson

The former Everton, Newcastle United and Rangers striker was notorious for his 'hardman' image, and best remembered for having an aggressive and highly-competitive style of play, resulting in nine red cards and a three-month prison sentence following an on-field headbutt of Raith Rovers defender John McStay in 1994.

Ferguson's 'Glasgow kiss' is the most infamous of his four convictions for assault, two of which arose from taxi-rank scuffles, and one altercation with a fisherman in a pub in Anstruther, Scotland.

It's worth noting that the 41-year-old also liked to fight crime as well - like in 2001, when he was the victim of a burglary attempt at his home on Merseyside. Ferguson confronted the two men and was able to detain one, who subsequently spent three days in hospital!
