Five of the Greatest: Premier League games (3)

Published 7 Comments

Arsenal 4-4 Tottenham, 2008

Harry Redknapp's first official game in charge of Spurs back in 2008 was certainly a lively one, and it bore all the characteristics of his roller-coaster four years at White Hart Line.

Taking charge of a squad he felt was imbalanced he fielded a side against great rivals Arsenal more in hope than anything else, and although he got off to a dream start thanks to David Bentley's wonder goal, but soon they came crashing back down to reality.

Mikael Silvestre pulled the scores level before William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor put Arsenal well and truly in control.

Darren Bent pulled one back but Spurs seemed doomed to fall to defeat to their great rivals as Robin van Persie scored.

Jermaine Jenas evidently hadn't read the script as he made it 4-3 in the 89th minute before Luka Modric hit the post from distance and Aaron Lennon scrambled home the rebound. The little man was mobbed.
