Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal, 2011

Football News

Another 4-4 thriller featuring an Arsenal team blowing a healthy lead, this time Newcastle were the opponents who fought their way back in dramatic fashion.

Arsenal found themselves 4-0 up after just 26 minutes thanks to two strikes from Robin van Persie, and one apiece from Theo Walcott and Johan Djourou.

Newcastle refused to lie down and battled back into the game through two Joey Barton penalties and a Leon Best strike.

Arsenal were rocking by then and Cheick Tiote landed the final blow, hammering a long-range shot through a crowded box to set St. James' Park rocking.
