Football’s most eccentric managers (5)

Published 2 Comments

Glenn Hoddle

The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager was enjoying reasonable success while in charge of England when he made comments in an interview you would have to be seriously misguided to make.

His claim that karma was behind people having disabilities because of sins in former lives was never going to go down well with the press and FA, and he was duly sacked.

His long-term connection with faith healer Eileen Drewery was another thing that set him apart from other managers and claiming his one big regret was not taking her with the squad to France ’98 got eyebrows raised even further.
