Chelsea predicted line-up v Rubin Kazan

Published 1 Comments

Chelsea host Rubin Kazan in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, and are set to make a number of changes from the side that beat Manchester United in the last eight of the FA Cup.

Rafa Benitez has been able to rely on Petr Cech between the sticks, and he will continue in this crucial clash at Stamford Bridge.

In defence, Ashley Cole’s absence means Ryan Bertrand will continue at left back, whilst Gary Cahill’s knee problem means a central partnership of John Terry and David Luiz is on the cards for Chelsea. Cesar Azpilicueta has been a regular on the right.

Frank Lampard could get the nod on a big European night for the Blues, with the English veteran and John Obi Mikel vying for one place alongside Ramires.

In-front of the defensive duo, the Chelsea manager has options. Juan Mata is a likely starter, whilst Eden Hazard’s fine form suggests he could again get the nod. Oscar struggled against the Red Devils however, and could be replaced by Victor Moses.

Fernando Torres is the only option up-front, with Demba Ba cup-tied after an earlier appearance for Newcastle.

Chelsea predicted line-up v Rubin Kazan:

Petr Cech; Cesar Azpilicueta, John Terry, David Luiz, Ryan Bertrand; Frank Lampard, Ramires; Victor Moses, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard; Fernando Torres.
