In the Premier League, nearly every game is fought with passion and fire, but none more so than local derbies.
Luckily for football fans all over the world, the English Premier League throws up some of the tastiest derbies there is in football.
Whether it's the Manchester Derby, the north London Derby or the Merseyside Derby, all the games produce exciting and thrilling matches.
Ahead of the Manchester Derby this Monday night, we thought it would be a good idea to pick the starting 11 of the rivals if they were to combine into one team.
Below is the starting line-up's I chose from the three main derbies in the Premier League.
Joe Hart (Manchester City), Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City) Nemanja Vidic (Manchester United), Patrice Evra (Manchester United), David Silva (Manchester City), Yaya Toure (Manchester City), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Samir Nasri (Manchester City), Robin Van Persie (Manchester United), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City).
So as you can see, seven Manchester City players get into my Manchester dream-team with just four coming from Manchester United, despite the red side of Manchester running away with the league this year.
Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Bacary Sagna (Arsenal), Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham), Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal), Santi Cazorla (Arsenal), Gareth Bale (Tottenham), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham), Lukas Podolski (Arsenal).
In the north London XI, I have gone with seven Arsenal players compared to the four from Tottenham. It was a tough decision not to include Moussa Dembele, but I believe Cazorla and Wilshere are overall better players.
Pepe Reina (Liverpool), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Sylvain Distin (Everton), Leighton Baines (Everton), Coutinho (Liverpool), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Marouane Fellaini (Everton), Steven Pienaar (Everton), Luis Suarez (Liverpool), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool).
The Everton/Liverpool XI was a lot harder to choose and I think that shows as there are 6 Liverpool players and five Everton, rather than seven and four like the other two derby sides. Distin was the only questionable pick in my opinion, but I chose him as he plays more often than Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel.
There will be many people who disagree with these outfits (especially if you support either one of these side's), but this is my personal opinion of the best derby XI's.
