Chelsea fans have become accustomed to seeing readymade stars entering the doors of Stamford Bridge. However, with many of their current stars ageing and FFP regulations to think about Chelsea have had to invest in youth.

With the current players Chelsea possess it was inevitable that some of the youngest stars were going to be loaned out with the hope that they would return as stars.

Lower league clubs come to Chelsea every year to try and get their hands on the hottest of Chelsea’s youngsters, but which of these current youngsters have the capacity to become a world class player? Let’s look over some promising options at the helm of Chelsea come next season.

5. WALLACE

Born 1/5/1994 in Brazil.

Wallace signed for Chelsea in the January 2013 transfer window from Brazilian club Fluminense but was immediately loaned back to the club. An attacking right-back, Wallace Oliveira dos Santos made his senior debut as a 17-year-old, helping Fluminense to the 2012 Brazilian league championship, the Rio State League and Guanabara Cup.

Wallace looks an exciting prospect when going forward much like Barcelona’s Dani Alves.

His true test is in the Premier League next year. With the arrival of Cesar Azpilicueta, Wallace will have some competition. Azpilicueta looking stronger and more agile with each game he plays - Wallace will have his work cut out.

4. NATHANIEL CHALOBAH

His profile on Chelsea’s official website tells us that Chalobah was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on 12 December 1994. He signed his first professional contract in January 2012 having turned 17, putting pen to a two-and-a-half year deal. On 31 August 2012 he joined Championship side Watford on loan. The loan initially stipulated that Chalobah would return to Stamford Bridge in January, 2013. However, after impressing at Vicarage Road and featuring regularly, the deal was extended until the end of the season.

He is well known for his versatility, work-rate, and fitness levels, both in a defending and attacking sense.

3. THORGAN HAZARD

Hazard's transfer from FC Lens was completed on 24 July 2012. Thorgan is the brother of Chelsea star Eden Hazard and plays a similar attacking role to his big brother.

Thorgan is currently on loan to Belgian outfit S.V. Zulte Waregem and seems to be on the right path to follow his brother Eden - both exceptional footballers with immense skill. From what I have seen of Thorgan his development is looking bright, each game he seems to improve. Not quite at the same level as Eden but defiantly one to watch out for, perhaps another year on loan for the Belgium.

2. ROMELU LUKAKU

Sat at the top of West Bromich Albion’s top scorer board the power-house Belgium looks a top player. He shows determination with lighting pace and has no doubt been Albion’s best player this season. Standing at a massive 6ft4” Lukaku will bully any defensive all day long. Chelsea fans surely can not wait for the return of Lukaku.

1. THIBAUT COURTOIS

Shortly after signing from Genk, Courtois agreed a season long loan deal to Atletico Madrid for the 2011/12 season. The loan was then extended for a further 12 months to cover the 2012/13 season.

Courtois has impressed everyone at Atletico, becoming a key player for the club. The Belgian has provided a number or fantastic saves. He has developed much quicker than Chelsea would have expected. Petr Cech looks to have a successor of equal calibre and should watch his back in Courtois returns to the club next year.
