Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho faces a real selection dilemma as club captain Iker Casillas has made a return to fitness after spending some nine weeks on the sidelines.

Casillas has recovered following surgery on a fractured hand which he suffered in training. Casillas was initially feared to be out for 12 weeks but has made good progress during his rehabilitation and is likely to available for selection.

Diego Lopez was signed from Sevilla soon after the severity of Casillas’ injury was revealed in January. Lopez has filled the boots of the Spanish captain in spectacular fashion and has left Jose Mourinho with a headache ahead of Real Madrid’s next game against Levante.

Iker Casillas is likely to be named in the squad for the match but it remains to be seen whether the Portuguese manager will welcome him back in to the starting XI.

Either way, Mourinho will have to make a bold decision as to who remains between the posts for the remaining part of the season.

Casillas has been a mainstay for club and country for almost a decade and is captain for Real Madrid.

Diego Lopez’ impressive displays will however, make it an interesting duel between the two goal keepers and Mourinho is likely to cause offense to either player with whatever decision he ultimately goes with.
