The Copa Libertadores really is a wonderful tournament and this latest goal just goes to show you why.
South America is the land that spawned current football superstars such as Neymar and Lionel Messi; it exports players of great flair and skill around the globe to wow fans of countless teams.
So it is great to see where such talent began and the pitting against each other of the continent’s best teams.
This time the moment of magic come from Newell’s Old Boys star Ignacio Scocco in the Argentine side’s 3-1 win over Deportivo Lara of Venezuela.
Scocco had scored just before half time to give the home side a 2-0 lead but Lara halved the deficit with little over ten minutes remaining to make for a tight finish.
However, Scocco was on hand again with a little over a minute to go to make the game safe when he picked up the ball in his own half, surged past one defender, skipped past another, shimmied to send the third on his backside and buried the ball into the bottom corner.
It couldn’t have looked better if he had planned it him self. Watch below and enjoy for yourself.
