Footballers over six feet tall can be worth their weight of gold in the physically demanding Premier League.

Here is the best team of giants currently plying their trade in the English top flight.

Goalkeeper: Costel Pantilimon | Manchester City | Height: 6ft 8in

Manchester City's reserve keeper from Romania is currently the tallest player in the whole of the division. He stands at a massive 6ft 8in and has played 16 times for Romania.

Right-back: Martin Kelly | Liverpool | Height: 6ft 3in

While 6ft 3in may not be the tallest in the league, for a right-back that is a big height. The up-and-coming Liverpool defender has the strength, pace and height to develop into a great England international.

Centre-back: Brede Hangeland | Fulham | Height: 6ft 6in

One of the tallest members of this team, Hangeland stands at 6ft 6in and his towering presence has been vital in Fulham's campaigns over the last few years.

Centre-back: Per Mertesacker | Arsenal | Height: 6ft 6in

Per Mersacker, like Hangeland, stands at a mighty 6ft 6in. This is possibly where his nickname of the "Defence Pole" came from. He is commanding in the air and has made 28 league appearances for Arsenal this season.

Left-back: Nathan Baker | Aston Villa | Height: 6ft 3in

The Aston Villa youngster, at just 21 years old, has made an impression this season. He, like Kelly, stands at 6ft 3in and has made 20 league appearances for Villa this season, playing at either left-back or centre-back.

Centre-midfield: Marouane Fellaini | Everton | Height: 6ft 4in

The Belgium beast who plays for Everton is 6ft 4in. Many name him as one of the hardest players they've ever faced as his aggression, strength and height means he is able to dominate games for both Everton and Belgium.

Centre-midfield: Steven N'Zonzi | Stoke City | Height: 6ft 4in

The France Under-21 international stands at 6ft 4in and is perfectly suited to Stoke's physical game. He progressed at Blackburn to become a solid Premier League player.

Centre-midfield: Ryan Shotton | Stoke City | Height: 6ft 3in

Another Stoke man who can play both defence and midfield. He is 6ft 3in and has the ability to play a makeshift centre-forward role due to his height. He has managed 17 league appearances for Stoke this season.

Striker: Peter Crouch | Stoke City | Height: 6ft 7in

Peter Crouch is the tallest outfield player on the team at 6ft 7in. The striker has been to many clubs including Liverpool, Tottenham and now Stoke. He is also capped for England more than 40 times, scoring 22 goals. While he is known for his huge height, it is also his good touch and skill on the ball which makes him an excellent player.

Striker: Emmanuel Adebayor | Tottenham | Height: 6ft 4in

Adebayor plays for Tottenham and Togo and is 6ft 4in. There are other strikers in the division with this height such as Franco Di Santo but Adebayor seems to be the most imposing. His strength and height combined make him a great player and this is why he has played at many fantastic teams such as Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Striker: Edin Dzeko | Manchester City | Height: 6ft 4in

Finally the last player in the team is Edin Dzeko. Many people may not think of him as a tall player but he is also 6ft 4in. He is a proven goalscorer with 38 goals in 102 appearances for Manchester City. His true size and strength, but great feet means he has developed into a fantastic player.
