Barcelona are being linked with a shock move for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.
Spanish publication El Mundo Deportivo claims Barca continue to monitor the situation regarding the player at the Santiago Bernabeu, and will look to pounce if Ramos wants ‘a change of scenery’ in the summer.
The paper goes on to report that a move could hinge on Jose Mourinho’s future in the Spanish capital. If ‘the Special One’ remains on the bench, then players could leave. Ramos is known to have a particularly strained relationship with the manager.
Ramos has had a fantastic stint with Madrid, joining from Sevilla in 2005 and winning three La Liga titles, as well as a Copa del Rey.
That trophy haul is only matched by players at the Nou Camp, who have also tasted Champions League glory on two separate occasions in that time.
Were Ramos - who has earned 101 caps for La Roja - to swap Real Madrid for Barcelona, then he’d follow in some famous footsteps, with Luis Figo and Luis Enrique the last two players to make the switch from one rival to another directly.
