Champions League XI: 2012/13 quarter-finalists

As we are half-way through the Champions League quarter-finals, we are seeing the best Europe has to offer.

Here is a team made up of quarter-finalists that would certainly take some stopping: 

GK: Willy Caballero - Malaga

Willy has been the best stopper in the European championship this season. The 31 year-old has six clean sheets and has only conceded three goals in the competition, which is better than any other keeper.

RB: Dani Alves - Barcelona

Alves has done the job for his team consistently. He performs well at the back and joins the attack frequently, he has a goal and an assist to go with his brilliant display  defensively.

CB: Thiago Silva - PSG

One of the best defenders in the competition Silva has saved the day for his team so many times and is a certain choice for this team. He also has two goals and an assist to his name which shows what an asset he is to the team.

CB: Mats Hummels - Borussia Dortmund

The 24-year-old German has shown his value this season. He has played a vital role for his team this term. He is another player who has the the composure to control at the back and the pace to join the attack and has a goal and an assist to his name.

LB: Phillip Lahm - Bayern Munich

The German international has been one of the key players for his team's success, and has impressed one and all with his defensive abilities. He also joins the attack very often and has four assists to his credit.

RM: Marco Reus - Borussia Dortmund

Another exciting young prospect, Reus has been brilliant this season. One of the fastest players around Reus has the ability to play in the wing as well as attack. He has already scored three goals in the competition and is a certain inclusion.

CM: Arturo Vidal - Juventus

He is one of the players who can play in a defensive as well as attacking role. With two assists and three goals Vidal is a certainty for this list.

CM: Mario Gotze - Borussia Dortmund

Gotze has been a revelation this season. The 20-year-old has great pace and versatility and with two goals and four assists to his credit he is an ideal choice for an attacking mid-fielder.

LM: Angel di Maria - Real Madrid

Although he is not having the best season of his life but still Angel has shown his abilities this season. With five assists to his name Di Maria is the ideal player for the left-wing.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo - Real Madrid

The leading scorer in Europe this season Ronaldo is the ideal man to have forward. He has more shots on goal than any other player this season and has been the most important player for his team.

ST: Lionel Messi- Barcelona

The Argentine magician has eight goals and two assists to his credit and has been the key to his team's success. With Ronaldo and Messi upfront it would be a nightmare for even the best defence in the world.

Bench: Buffon, Sergio Ramos, Chiellini, Xavi, Burak Yilmaz, Ibrahimovic
