David James - 536 Premier League appearances

In February 2009, James became the all-time leading Premier League appearance maker when he overtook Gary Speed's record of 535 games, holding the record for just over two years.

The former England goalkeeper - who was capped 53 times by his country - enjoyed top-flight spells with Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham, Manchester City and Portsmouth, and also holds the record for most Premier League clean sheets with 173.
