Long-term Tottenham Hotspur target Leandro Damiao is wanted by Napoli this summer, according to FIFA agent Gianfranco Cicchetti.
In an interview with Italian station Radio CRC, the Brazilian striker - who was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in January - was highlighted as a player identified by the Serie 'A' club to strengthen their squad ahead of 2013/14.
"A delegation from Napoli was present during the match between Bolivia and Brazil," Cicchetti confirmed. "They looked at Damiao and he is emphatically in the picture at the club."
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has been credited with an interest in signing Damiao, and is still believed to be keen to bring the 23-year-old to White Hart Lane at the end of the season, as he looks to add to his attacking options.
However, Tottenham could now face serious competition for the Internacional star's signature, with Napoli stepping up their plans to lure the South American to Stadio San Paulo.
Walter Mazzarri's side are currently ranked second in Serie 'A' and on course to qualify for the Champions League next season, while Spurs are locked in a three-way race for a top four finish in the Premier League.
Damiao has made no secret of his desire to move to Europe, but it's anticipated that participation in Europe's elite club competition would go some way to convincing the Brazilian which club to join in the summer.
