Arsenal have not secured a trophy since 2005 and must make crucial signings if they wish to challenge for silverware next season.
Here are three quality players that Arsenal should be looking to recruit this summer.
Etienne Capoue | Toulouse
The tough-tackling Toulouse midfielder could be the answer to Arsenal's defensive midfield woes. With About Diaby consistently injured and Mikel Arteta getting older, Arsenal must sign a young, promising defensive midfielder to replace Alex Song, who was sold to Barcelona in the summer.
He has excellent strength and could even be a stand-in centre-back if there were extensive injuries. It is reported that Arsenal had a last-minute bid rejected by Toulouse in January, so it is obvious that he is a player of interest to Arsenal.
Adil Rami | Valencia
Adil Rami is an accomplished defender and it has been reported they are interested in a move for the £10m man from Valencia. With defenders Sebastien Squillaci and Johan Djourou looking likely to be moving away from the Emirates Stadium come the summer, and with increasing defensive frailties this season due to injuries and poor form, it is defence where Wenger may also want to strengthen.
Rami has been a transfer target for Arsenal for a while but they will face stiff competition from other clubs such as AC Milan and Anzhi.
Christian Benteke | Aston Villa
The Aston Villa man has been a revelation in his first season in the Premier League. He has hit 15 league goals and has been the driving force behind Villa's attempts to beat the drop.
He is attracting a lot of interest from numerous clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City, Inter Milan and Tottenham. Arsenal will have to pay a reasonable amount for Benteke but probably not an extortionate amount.
Arsenal are limited in the striker position, with Theo Walcott arguably still a winger and Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski having average seasons. It is a position Arsenal have very much been looking to strengthen and they have been linked to various players including David Villa.
Benteke would be the perfect fit, with proven Premier League goalscoring ability and fantastic pace and strength. He also declared his love for Arsenal in late 2012, stating: "Arsenal are the club I love. I like their philosophy of selecting young players, and besides, they had Thierry Henry." If Arsenal came in with an offer, it is unlikely that Benteke would reject.
