PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti optimistic ahead of Barcelona clash
Barcelona v Paris Saint-Germain news: Carlo Ancelotti feels PSG can progress
Carlo Ancelotti believes his Paris Saint-Germain side can progress on Wednesday night if they play to their strengths against Barcelona.
The Parisians conceded two away goals in the first leg but were given hope in the dying minutes when Blaise Matuidi equalised to square the tie at 2-2.
If the game ends 0-0 then Barcelona will progress, however PSG will be boosted by doubts over the fitness of Lionel Messi as well as the return of their captain Thiago Silva at centre back.
Ancelotti has bags of experience in Europe's elite club competition - becoming the only man to win the European Cup both as a player and a manager when his AC Milan team beat Juventus in 2003.
Speaking ahead of the match Ancelotti clearly believes his side are a big enough threat to progress to the semi-final.
"The key is being confident and showing personality", said the Italian.
PSG boast a strong attacking threat with both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi set to play as well as the hugely impressive Lucas Moura in midfield.
"We have to be clever with the ball when we get it back. We will try to be aggressive from the first minute and attack with strength", he added.
PSG need to score tonight to have any hope of going through however were Barcelona to get one then PSG would need that second goal.
"We have to think about our strong points, not our errors. We will use all our best qualities", Ancelotti concluded.
Barcelona have conceded 11 goals in their last ten matches but the Catalans won 5-0 against Mallorca at the weekend and not many would bet against them to reach their sixth Champions League semi-final in as many seasons.
PSG will have to use all their attacking qualities to make this an even tie and although Barcelona are devastating going forward, their defence is more than penetrable.
