Bayern Munich hit top-form in the Champions League
UEFA Champions League semi-final awaits Bundesliga champions
Bayern Munich produced a comprehensive display in Turin to win 2-0 on the night and ease through to yet another Champions League semi-final.
Juventus were tipped to make this a hard match for the Bundesliga champions but Bayern showed why they're a great tip for a hat-trick of major trophies this season.
Bayern won the 'most commonly-played Champions League fixture' 4-0 on aggregate and made light work of a team who went unbeaten in their domestic league for the whole of last season.
Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic scored his 20th goal of the season to put Bayern ahead after 64 minutes but German international Manuel Neuer had to make several early saves to deny Andrea Pirlo and then Mirko Vucinic.
Juventus coach Antonio Conte promised a different game from the first leg yet statistically and performance-wise, Bayern dominated their hosts in a stadium where most teams have struggled to score in recent seasons.
Claudio Pizzaro replaced Mandzukic in the 83rd minute and seven minutes later the Peruvian sealed the tie to send his team through.
Bayern are looking strong and will find out in tomorrow's semi-final draw if they face home opposition in Borussia Dortmund or one of Spain's top two clubs.
Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes was delighted with his side's convincing performance but is yet to be dragged in by the praise his side are receiving.
"In the last few weeks there has been a lot of praise but the positive thing is that the team has not been influenced by this. Too much praise is not good", he told a reporter.
Bayern are currently an astonishing 20 points ahead of second-placed Dortmund in the Bundesliga and face Wolfsburg in their German cup semi-final this month but the Bayern chief knows what has to be done now.
"We are the champions and that was our aim but now we also have other aims. We have to see if we are on par with Real and Barcelona", he concluded.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Mandzukic echoed his team's desires.
"I am happy to have scored but happier that we are through. But we are not yet done."
