Rubin Kazan are ready to challenge Arsenal for the signing of St Etienne star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reports talkSPORT.
The 23-year-old striker - dubbed the 'African Neymar' - has been in scintillating form in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 17 goals in 30 appearances.
His impressive performances have captured the attention of a host of top European clubs, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger believed to be considering an attempt to lure Aubameyang to the Emirates Stadium when the transfer window reopens in July.
However, Arsenal could now face major competition for the Gabon international's services, with Russian newspaper, Sports-Ru, reporting that Rubin are willing to stump up £13million in a bid to secure his signature.
Aubameyang is under contract in France until 2016, but looks set to leave St Etienne this summer, though a decision on his next move is yet to be made, according to the player's agent, Oscar Damiani.
Recent speculation has suggested that the Premier League would be Aubameyang's preferred destination, putting Arsenal in the driving seat, but with additional interest from clubs in Serie 'A', and Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain, his future remains uncertain.
