World number three Luke Donald was unable to retain the Tampa Bay Championship after a final round of 69 at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.
Donald finished the championship with a score of six under par, but the Englishman ended in fourth place - tied alongside Greg Chalmers and Justin Leonard - with American Kevin Streelman claiming victory with a score of ten under.
Boo Weekley put his compatriot under pressure with an error free final round of 63, but Streelmen was able to hold out for the win, eventually ending the competition two shots ahead of the former.
Donald had been among the frontrunners entering into the final day after carding a 67 on day three in Florida, but the 35-year-old was unable to prevent Streelmen from winning his first event on the PGA Tour.
"It wasn't too long ago I was driving around in a car dead broke," Streelman said after his win. "But it shows if you keep working hard and stay patient, you can accomplish something."
