Hatem Ben Arfa has revealed that he wants to stay at St James Park and help Newcastle get back in to the Europa League.
Ben Arfa has been subject to reports of him being part of a deal that would see Andy Carroll return to his former club.
Liverpool could be ready to let Andy Carroll leave after failing to convince his new manager Brendan Rodgers.
However the tricky French winger has rubbished these reports claiming he is happy at Newcastle and is focused on getting Newcastle more European action after their exit at the hands of Benfica this week.
He said to the Evening Chronicle: "I want to stay here, it is only journalists who talk about that. Me and my agent have not talked about that.
“I am focused on Newcastle and 100% Newcastle. I hope to stay here.
“We have a great team. I’d love to play for this team in Europe again. We won’t next season but after that we can maybe go again.”
“Everything is here. It is a great club. We have a great squad, big ground and great fans."
Ben Arfa's season has been inconsistent with hamstring injuries halting his progress. He has made just 15 appearances all season, netting three times and making three assists.
However, Newcastle will be desperate to keep Ben Arfa as when fully fit, he has sparked to life putting in some impressive performances.
