Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is prepared to smash the club's record transfer fee by paying £30m for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze.
It is also reported that Wenger may look to promote a few young players from the youth ranks as they have impressed this season for the Under-21s and the youth sides.
It has been speculated for the last few months that Wenger has a whopping £70m to spend on transfers in the summer and it is reported that the Frenchman is ready to spend big to try and bolster up his side as they fight for Champions League football.
Gotze has a £30m release clause in his contract and Wenger is prepared to match that fee, which means Dortmund will have to accept the bid.
Arsenal's current record transfer is £15m and that was for Russian midfielder Andrey Arshavin, back in 2009.
As well as spending big to strengthen his side, Wenger is also looking towards some of his younger players in the reserves and the youth set-up.
It is said that the Arsenal boss has been impressed with 16-year-old Gedion Zelalem, 18-year-old Hector Bellerin and 17-year-old Serge Gnabry.
Zelalem has been training with the first-team despite his young age, and Gnabry has featured in the first-team for the first time this season. Those two as well as right-back Bellerin are reported to be fast tracked at the Emirates Stadium.
