Here is a list of eleven of the best players that have been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.
I’ve chosen a continental 4-3-3 formation to fit the players.
Goalkeeper: Victor Valdes | Barcelona
Valdes could be on his way to Arsenal, according to the Mail. The Spaniard has been prominent part of the Barcelona team for the last decade. His great shot-stopping ability and accurate distribution could make him a hit in the Premier League.
Right-back: Aleksandr Anyukov | Zenit St. Petersburg
The 30-year-old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Everton. A modern full-back who can get forward whilst still being a solid defender and was very impressive against Liverpool in the Europa League earlier this season.
Centre-back: Ezequiel Garay | Benfica
Garay, the ex-Real Madrid defender, could be moving to Manchester United, according to various sources. The Argentine international could move for up to £25m, and it is rumoured that Sir Alex Ferguson sees him as the perfect replacement for Rio Ferdinand.
Centre-back: Eliaquim Mangala | FC Porto
Mangala has had a great season for Porto and his mix of strength and pace could see him fit into the Premier League seamlessly. A move to Tottenham could be in the pipeline, according to Sky Sports.
Left-back: Faouzi Ghoulam | Saint-Etienne
Ghoulam may be a less well-known talent but his performances for Saint-Etienne may have certainly convinced the player that a move to the Premier League could happen. Ghoulam claimed there has been interest in an interview with Sky Sports.
Centre-midfielder: Etienne Capoue | Toulouse
Capoue has also been impressing in Ligue 1 this year. The French international could be on his way to Spurs, according to the Telegraph.
Centre-midfielder: Victor Wanyama | Celtic
Wanyama is a similar player to Capoue and has impressed in Celtic’s Champions League run. The strong defensive midfielder could be moving to Arsenal, according to the Telegraph.
Centre-midfielder: Christian Eriksen | Ajax
Eriksen is one of Europe’s hottest young players. The Ajax star has had a brilliant season and the Mirror reports that he could be moving to Chelsea or Liverpool.
Striker: Wilfried Bony | Vitesse
Bony has broken scoring records for Vitesse in the Eredevisie. He could be on his way to Chelsea, according to the Mail. This would make sense as the two clubs are very close and Bony could be the man to replace Didier Drogba.
Striker: Edinson Cavani | Napoli
Cavani has been a major part of Napoli’s run to second place in this year’s Serie A. The striker has been on fire and lays claim to being the best number nine in Europe right now. Chelsea could be a possible destination, according to the Mirror.
Striker: Radamel Falcao | Atletico Madrid
The Atletico Madrid striker has dominated La Liga this year and was a member of the FIFA Team of the Year. If he gets an inch of room he's likely to score and so could be the perfect fit for either Chelsea or Manchester United, with a £50m deal being suggested by the Mail.
