Everton manager David Moyes has insisted that tonight’s game against Arsenal is crucial for his team’s chances of making the top four.

Everton currently sit in sixth place, three points from the top four but a win tonight would see them move to within a point of Arsenal who are in third.

Moyes is seeing the game as a must win if they are to qualify for European’s elite competition.

Speaking to reporters he said: “This is a vital game and games are running out.”

“If we have got any chance of making the Champions League, we have got to get something out of it. For the last month we have been thereabouts but we will be the underdogs.”

"That said, the way we have been playing, it gives us a chance. We are still in there fighting for a European spot and that is a positive thing.”

The Everton boss went on to praise Arsenal and said that Everton were wary of the danger their opponent poses.

"Arsenal are a really good team with good players. They are a good side - they always have been," he added.

"If you were a bookmaker, you wouldn't make us favourites to qualify for the Champions League. Can it help being underdogs? It can but I would rather us be among the favourites."

Everton will go into the tie on the back of an impressive 2-0 home victory against QPR on Saturday courtesy of goals from Darren Gibson and Victor Anichebe while Arsenal will also be buoyed by their late comeback in the final ten minutes against Norwich. They teams drew 1-1 when they played earlier in the season.
