Anderlecht defender Cheikhou Kouyate admits joining Arsenal would be a dream move for him this summer, despite additional interest from Paris Saint-Germain, reports the Daily Mirror.

The Senegalese international has been earning rave reviews in Belgium this season following a series of scintillating performances, which have alerted the attention of a number of top European clubs.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been credited with an interest in bringing the 23-year-old to the Emirates Stadium, as he looks to further strengthen his back line ahead of the 2013/14 campaign.

Kouyate - who can also operate in midfield - is rated at around £5million, and so can be regarded as an affordable addition to the Arsenal squad, given the frugal Frenchman's history in the transfer market.

Arsenal will face some competition for the African's signature, but are in pole position to secure his services, in light of Kouyate's ambition to play in the Premier League.

"I am happy here but if Arsenal called me to go to London I would have no doubt about going," he said in an interview with a Belgian newspaper.

"I hear they have asked for some information on me from the last few months."
