Manchester City outcast Roque Santa Cruz, currently on loan with Malaga, is reportedly being monitored by Brazilian giants Flamengo, who could finally offer the striker a permanent move away from the Etihad Stadium.
According to talkSPORT, Flamengo are keeping tabs on the Paraguay international and are considering of making a contract offer with his deal with Manchester City finally due to expire in the summer.
Santa Cruz has not made a Premier League appearance for Manchester City since November 2010, and the 31-year-old has proven to be one of the most expensive flops under the reign of Sheikh Mansour.
The former Bayern Munich forward was signed by Mark Hughes having worked together during their time at Blackburn, but Santa Cruz has failed repay anything close to the £17.5 million paid to capture him.
Santa Cruz has scored only four goals in 24 appearances for Manchester City, and is now in his third loan spell away from the club with the likes of Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez ahead of him in Roberto Mancini's selection order.
He has scored 10 goals in 40 games for Malaga this season, while he has also contributed three assists.
